HORIBA TestWork
Flexible and well-equipped for any eventuality
The central instrument for test bench management and control for the test bench operator is the control software HORIBA TestWork. Thanks to its user-friendly interface, even complex test cycles can be executed fully automatically without losing sight of what is essential. The control software is extremely flexible and can be tailored to all specific use cases.
Automation
The centerpiece of every Evaluator test bench is our TestWork Automation, which reliably implements tests on both the hardware and software sides. In conjunction with all HORIBA FuelCon components, tests can be controlled in real time and highly dynamic drive cycles can be simulated. Thanks to our open interface concept, external devices can be just as easily integrated and incorporated into the testing process.
All test procedures can be carried out manually, semi-automatically, or fully automatically. This enables a wide variety of test scenarios – from simple tests and extensive drive cycles to long-term tests.
The HORIBA FuelCon test equipment from the Evaluator series ensures reliable evaluation, validation, and optimization of:
- fuel cells
- batteries
- electrolyzers
Hardware
The objective of every test run is to collect and analyze the test data obtained. To ensure conclusions are as well-founded as possible, the amount of data collected is usually extremely extensive. This creates very high demands on the hardware installed in the test bench, as test runs must be carried out reliably, fail-safe, and predominantly with high dynamics.
HORIBA FuelCon takes these challenges into account during the design of every test bench and only uses hardware that operates with absolute reliability. We place particular emphasis on our TrueData Controllers, which optimally support all functionalities of the HORIBA TestWork software and are capable of real-time operation. The interplay of hardware and software produces optimal results for your testing requirements, enabling you to reliably and safely execute highly dynamic test runs as well as extensive long-term tests.
Depending on the configuration of your test bench, various controllers with different functionalities are employed. These controllers communicate with each other in real time, autonomously record data, monitor limits without a central system, and operate in a completely fail-safe manner.

Software
Our automation system HORIBA TestWork is primarily distinguished by its namesake control software. With the powerful HORIBA TestWork automation software, not only can our Evaluator test benches be controlled and operated, but entire test fields as well. The graphical interface was developed in collaboration with users and incorporates the latest findings in software ergonomics, with intuitive operation taking center stage – regardless of the operator's field of expertise.
For test bench operators, it doesn’t matter how complex or extensive a test run is to be – the preparation, execution, and evaluation in HORIBA TestWork are always designed to be simple and clear. Execution can be carried out manually, semi-automatically, or fully automatically. For complex and demanding test scenarios, the smooth interplay between the automation software and the TrueData Controllers ensures optimal results.
