Understanding Hydrogen Technology Early: Girls’ Day at HORIBA FuelCon

Magdeburg-Barleben, April 28, 2026

Hydrogen technologies are a key pillar of the energy transition – and understanding them begins with practical, hands-on knowledge transfer.
As part of Girls’ Day (Mädchen-Zukunftstag) 2026, HORIBA FuelCon therefore focused not only on providing initial insights into the company and its vocational training opportunities, but in particular on actively engaging participants with hydrogen technologies.

Collaboration with the ZWW

In cooperation with the Zentrum für wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung (ZWW) of Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, the eight participating schoolgirls were introduced to fundamental concepts through interactive hydrogen experiment kits in a clear and engaging way. The hands-on experiments vividly demonstrated how theoretical principles and real-world applications are connected, making the potential of hydrogen technology directly tangible.

Science and Continuing Education

For HORIBA FuelCon, the exchange with partners from science and continuing education is an important component in not only advancing technological developments, but also making them understandable and accessible. Formats like these make a valuable contribution to fostering interest in future technical topics and creating early points of contact with innovative technologies.

We would like to thank the Zentrum für wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung (ZWW) of Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg for the excellent collaboration, as well as the participants for their great interest, curiosity, and active engagement.
